Martingale

Trading Rules

Definition

A banned strategy of doubling position size after each loss to recover losses. Prop firms prohibit it because it leads to catastrophic drawdowns.

Example

Losing $100 → bet $200 → lose → bet $400. After 6 consecutive losses you're down $6,300. This is why firms ban it.
