Definition

The standardized trading volume unit. 1 standard lot = 100,000 units. Mini lot = 10,000. Micro lot = 1,000.

Example

On EUR/USD, 1 standard lot means each pip movement is worth ~$10. With a $50K account, 1 lot risks 0.2% per pip.
